The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has launched an AI-powered citizen complaint portal to make reporting food adulteration, fake medicines and substandard pharmaceutical products faster and easier. Announcing the initiative, FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe said citizens can file complaints by speaking in Marathi, Hindi or English, and the AI system will automatically convert them into structured written complaints before forwarding them to the concerned officer. The portal also offers complaint tracking, real-time updates and an auto-escalation system to ensure timely action and greater transparency.
